BATTERY PARK CITY LIBRARY opens on March 18! NYPL's first green library in Manhattan, Battery Park City Library features carpeting made from recycled tires, floors crafted from the wood scraps of a window-frame factory, and millwork created from recycled cardboard composite. To serve a growing community, the library houses 24,000 items, 36 computers, and separate reading areas for children, young adults, and adults.
