The center provides free one-on-one sessions with financial planners in collaboration with the Financial Planning Association; computer access to popular business and finance databases; 1,500 books on a wide range of financial topics; and financially focused classes.
June 10 marks the kick-off of the 2010 SUMMER READING program, the popular citywide campaign to encourage school-age children to continue reading during their summer vacations. The Bronx Library Center features a daylong celebration for audiences of all ages to enjoy a day of music, magic, book signings, gaming, and more.
"WHO YOU GONNA CALL" helps fights funding cuts at NYPL! Improv Everywhere, the New York City-based performance-art group, recreates a scene from the film Ghostbusters in the Deborah, Jonathan F. P., Samuel Priest, and Adam Raphael Rose Main Reading Room at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. The video, part of the "Don't Close the Book on Libraries" campaign, has been viewed online approximately two million times.
