AARON DOUGLAS: AFRICAN AMERICAN MODERNIST, curated by the Spencer Museum of Art/The University of Kansas and the first nationally touring retrospective to celebrate the artist’s work and legacy, opens at the Schomburg Center. A highlight of the exhibition is Douglas's mural Aspects of Negro Life, one of the treasures of the Schomburg Center's Art and Artifacts Division. Learn more about the artist and the mural here.

The 2008–2009 Fellows in the SCHOMBURG CENTER’S SCHOLARS-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM arrive.
